Pimpri News : Hoteliers must manage waste effectively, appeals Shekhar Singh

In a bid to address the concerns of the city’s hoteliers, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner recently held an interactive session under the ‘Interaction with Businessmen’ initiative. During the session, various issues pertaining to the hotel industry were discussed, including waste management, water supply, encroachment, employment generation, and new projects.

The hoteliers expressed their concerns over the lack of proper waste management facilities and requested the Commissioner to take immediate action to resolve the issue. They also highlighted the problems they face due to inadequate water supply and requested the authorities to ensure uninterrupted water supply to their establishments.

The issue of encroachment was also discussed, with the hoteliers pointing out that encroachment on footpaths and public spaces by vendors and hawkers was affecting their businesses. The Commissioner assured the hoteliers that the authorities would take appropriate action to address the issue and ensure that public spaces are free from encroachment.

The hoteliers also emphasized the need for employment generation in the sector and requested the Commissioner to facilitate skill development programs for the youth to enable them to find employment in the industry.

Ajay Charthankar, Deputy Commissioner PCMC, informed the hoteliers about the various new projects planned by the authorities. 

Overall, the interactive session was a positive step towards addressing the concerns of the hotel industry and ensuring that the city’s tourism sector continues to thrive. The Commissioner assured the hoteliers that their concerns would be taken into consideration and appropriate action would be taken to address them.

The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Jeetendra Wagh, health department deputy commissioner Ajay Charthankar, joint engineer Shrikant Savane, Ramdas Tambe, PRO Ravikiran Ghodke, assistant commissioner Vijay Thorat, Pimpri Chinchwad Hotel and Restaurants Association president Padmanath Shetty, Govind Pansare, secretary Satish Telang, and many others.
