Pimpri: Nigdi Area Remains Without Power For 7 Hours As Gas Tanker Overturns at Bhakti-Shakti Chowk

An unfortunate incident occurred at Bhakti-Shakti Chowk in Nigdi when an LPG gas tanker belonging to Bharat Petroleum overturned near Madhukarrao Pavle bridge during the early hours of Sunday. As a safety precaution, the police department took immediate action and requested the power supply in Nigdi village and its surrounding areas to be temporarily cut off. The power outage lasted until 5 pm when normal electricity services were restored.
The accident involved a Bharat Petroleum LPG gas tanker en route from Mumbai to Pune. Due to the presence of gas in the overturned tanker, the police department alerted Mahavitaran (MSEDCL), the local electricity distribution company, to halt the power supply in order to mitigate potential hazards. Consequently, approximately 550 customers residing in Nigdi Gavthan, Sector 24 and 26, as well as the Sainath nagar area, experienced an abrupt interruption in their electricity supply. However, by 10:30 in the morning, power was restored to Sector 26. Following the instructions from the police department, the remaining areas remained without electricity until 5 pm when power services were fully reinstated.
