Player auction for cricket tournament in Pimple Saudagar society completed
Cricket season in Shivam Society in Pimple Saudagar has been kicked off with all the razzmataz and glitters with the Prabhakar Memorial SPL Season-XII players auction event on 24th February. Though it was a sporting event held at Shivam clubhouse, the evening had fashionistas showing up with glitterati. Nevertheless, there was bonhomie and camaraderie at display among all the people.
Like previous seasons, the current SPL season also has 2 leagues viz.
· Pre League comprising 3 womens and 1 kids teams; and
· Pro-League comprising 6 Grown-Up teams and 1 adoscents team, both having mixed gender composition.
The SPL format by design provides maximum participation and engagement among the society members. Over the years SPL has come to act as a glue holding up the morale and happiness quotient of SHIVAMOITS. We all await for this event the whole year round.
The auction event began with oil lamp lighting in the sweet remembrance of renowned late philanthropist, social activist and author Prabhakar Ghodke.
This year, the Prabhakar Memorial SPL season XII auction got bigger and better with a swelled-up owner kitty size of Rs. 1 crore. The 11 team owners placed bids for 153 players across both the Pre and Pro leagues, to form a team of 9 male and 4 female players respectively.
This season, 2 male players set a record of highest successful auction price of Rs 38 lakhs each. Similarly, the highest bid for female reached up to Rs 28 lakhs. The whole bidding event was conducted in a smooth and transparent manner and demonstrated well-planned strategies laid out by team owners.
The event concluded with the fireworks, photoshoots and reels shoots. The whole event was conceptualized and executed by the Shivam in-house team, which could even give the professional event managers a run for their money.
