In a determined effort to elevate its standing in the Swachch Bharat Mission, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) recently convened a crucial meeting with all ward offices.
The PMC’s solid waste management department, led by officer Sandeep Kadam, has now issued a stern directive to all ward offices, emphasizing the urgent need to combat issues such as spitting, garbage dumping, burning, and public urination.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs in the city, Sandeep Kadam has circulated a comprehensive circular outlining the necessary actions to be taken. The PMC solid waste management department is adamant about raising awareness among citizens to maintain the cleanliness of the city. However, given the persistence of undesirable behavior, the PMC finds it imperative to take stringent action against those violating civic norms.
In response to these concerns, all regional ward offices have been instructed to heighten their efforts in addressing these public nuisances. The recent meeting with ward offices emphasized the need for immediate action against spitting, urination on roads, and the improper disposal and burning of garbage in public spaces.
The solid waste management department is determined to keep a close watch on notorious spots where citizens tend to engage in the undesirable practices of garbage throwing, burning, spitting, and urinating.
To ensure accountability, regional ward offices are mandated to submit regular reports detailing the actions taken against citizens violating civic hygiene norms.
With written orders now in place, it is expected that swift and decisive action will be initiated across the city. The PMC remains resolute in its commitment to achieving a cleaner and more disciplined urban environment.
