Teenager Assaulted in Elevator While She Went To Buy Milk (Representational Image )
In an unfortunate incident that took place at 11:15 pm on December 10, a 17-year-old girl, who was on her way to buy milk, became the victim of molestation in the lift of a building located in the Samarth area.
Upon reaching home, the distressed victim promptly informed her mother about the incident. The community members rallied together, aiding in the apprehension of the accused, identified as Irfan Khan, a resident of Wanowrie, who was subsequently handed over to the Samarath police.
According to the police report, the minor girl had been sent by her mother to a nearby shop to purchase milk. As she entered the society lift, an unknown assailant entered and subjected her to inappropriate touching.
Case has been filed and the accused has been arrested.
The legal proceedings involve a case registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 354 (Assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
