PMC to stop pick up of societies, organisations generating 100 kgs waste
Even after repeated warnings, several societies, institutions, wedding halls, lawns l, colleges, hospitals and other establishments generating generating more than 100 kgs waste were observed that they were not disposing the waste.
The Supreme Court guidelines as per 2016 informs that societies having more than 100 kgs wet waste should manage their own waste. Also Pune Municipal Corporation also went ahead by offering a five percent discount in the property tax for those having such waste disposal plants.
Pune Municipal Corporation has recently informed that March 31, 2021 onwards the civic body shall not take waste from such bulk generators. And those failing to follow the guidelines shall be liable for a fine.
- First Fine : Rs 5,000
- Second fine : Rs 10,000
- Third Fine : Rs 15000
- And thereafter Rs 15000 for every violation
