Pune Civic Body Demands Bus Fare Hike As PMPML'S Losses Mount
To make travel convenient and enjoyable for residents and tourists during the Diwali holidays, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd. (PMPML) has introduced a special tourism bus service. This service, featuring eco-friendly AC electric buses, will operate on weekends and public holidays, offering eight unique routes to various cultural, natural, and religious sites around Pune.
The service has gained early popularity among local families, tourists, and devotees. Priced at ₹500 per passenger, the routes cater to weekend travelers from diverse backgrounds, including those in the corporate and educational sectors. Passengers traveling in groups of 33 can enjoy a 100% fare discount for five travelers within the group.

Each route has carefully planned stops to showcase Pune’s tourist destinations, with departures at 9:00 AM:
- – Route 1: Hadapsar, Morgao, Jejuri, Saswad – Return at 4:00 PM
- – Route 2: Hadapsar, Narayanpur, Balaji Temple, Kondhanpur Temple – Return at 6:30 PM
- – Route 3: Deccan, Kharawade Mhasoba Deosthan, Temghar Dam – Return at 5:00 PM
- – Route 4: Pune Station, Khadakwasla Dam, Panshet Dam – Return at 4:45 PM
- – Route 5: Pune Station, Ramdara, Prayag Dham – Return at 5:30 PM
- – Route 6: Pune Station, Bhima Koregaon Vijay Ranastambh – Return at 5:30 PM

Bookings are available at major PMPML centers such as Pune Station, Swargate, Deccan Gymkhana, Katraj, and Hadapsar. In cases of low demand, PMPML offers flexibility for passengers to reschedule on other weekends and public holidays. Tickets cover travel to and from the departure point for added convenience.
