PMPML reschedules buses on three routes. Check details.

Pune: Currently, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) operates bus routes number 12, 208, and 228 along the Metro route. However, due to the increasing number of private vehicles on the main road, Metro work and other road issues, people face inconvenience due to traffic congestion.
Also, people face inconvenience as the buses are not available at the right time. To address this, three long-haul bus routes are being redirected to the main station to provide more frequent bus availability.
Specifically, the frequency of bus number 42 and 6 on the Katraj to Nigdi, Bhakti Shakti route are being increased. This adjustment will take place from Wednesday, October 11, 2023. The modified bus routes are as follows:
1. Bus route number 12, which originally ran from the Upper Indira Nagar Depot to Nigdi, has been shortened to Shivaji Nagar. The average distance covered on this route is 10 miles, and buses have been made available accordingly.
2. Bus route number 208, which previously operated from Bhekarai Nagar to Hinjewadi Maan Phase 3, had 6 out of its 12 schedules altered. The section from Bhekarai Nagar to the Corporation building has been shortened to 25 miles, and buses will now operate regularly. The remaining six schedules have been adjusted to run from Bhekarai Nagar to Hinjewadi Maan Phase 3 as planned. The buses are scheduled to operate for an average duration of one hour regularly.
3. Increase in frequencies of buses by stopping buses on route number 228 from Katraj to Vadgaon Maval at Mukai Chowk. The average distance covered on this route is 30 meters. Buses have been made available regularly. Additionally, bus route number 229 from Mukai Chowk to Vadgaon Maval has an average of 30 buses operating on it. Buses are available regularly. The number of frequencies has been increased.
The bus route has been expanded as follows:
1. The number of frequencies was increased by adding 6 additional buses to bus route number 42 from Katraj to Nigdi, Bhakti Shakti. The average interval between buses is now 10 minutes, with a total of 25 buses. Buses have been made available regularly. Previously, 380 buses were circulating on the aforementioned route, but after the change, 472 buses will be running on this route. Students, passengers, citizens, employees, and women are encouraged to take advantage of this bus service as appealed by PMPML.
