PMRDA removes encroachments from Laxmi Chowk road in Hinjawadi

Pune: In a joint action, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), Public Works Department (PWD) and Pimpri Chinchwad police removed several encroachments from Laxmi Chowk to Kasarsai side on October 27 to smoothen the traffic flow.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Monica Singh, Joint Commissioner, Illegal Construction Department, PMRDA said, “The road from Laxmi Chowk goes towards Hinjewadi. Thousands of people travel from here every day. Due to several encroachments on both sides of the road, a lot of people face traffic issues daily. Thus, we, PWD & Pimpri Chinchwad Police jointly took action by demolishing all kinds of encroachments on the Laxmi Nagar to KasarSai route. The people who illegally build or construct such kinds of shops or businesses and encroach on the road space will face action by the PMRDA in the future as well.”
As per information from Singh, various kinds of construction like shops etc have been removed from both sides of the route. Cranes, bulldozers and other equipment were used. The exercise took place till KasarSai where no traffic hassles will be there.
