The citizens of Bavdhan have suffered a number of problems for maintaining law, order and security of the area. But, the recent statement by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar at an event organised by Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, suggests that the Bavdhan Police station will soon be associated with the Pune Police Commissionerate.  The decision also came in when the state government announced formation of new police stations both in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad areas.

This decision has brought a huge relief for Pimpri Chinchwad Police and the Bavdhan residents, as the Pune Police Commissionerate appears closer to Bavdhan than the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.

While talking about the decision, Pawar said, “We will be focussing on making it a crime free area rather than reducing it. We will soon be associated Bavdhan Police Station with Pune Police commissionerate, as it will be beneficial for the residents and the Police officials.”

C S Krishnan, one of the area residents while talking to Pune Pulse, said, “I am happy with this decision because Bavdhan is a growing area and it needs more man power. Shifting its base to Pune Police commissionerate will only ease the security and man power as Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate is altogether in a different city.”

Nishi Kavuri, another resident while talking to Pune Pulse said, “I back this decision because we are a part of PMC, so, why should Pimpri Chinchwad Police have a control? Pune Police Commissionerate is more closer to Bavdhan, which will increase more patrolling in the area.”

“This is definitely going to  help us because we have been waiting for this move since a very long time. I welcome this move because we were caught between PMC and Pimpri Chinchwad Police commissionerate – twin town control – which to certain extent is confusing,” said Dushyant Bhatia, another local resident.
