Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s Pune division disrupted power supply of over 40,000 consumers over non-payment of bills. Action has been taken against residential, commercial, industrial consumers. In the last one and half months, action has been taken against 40,915 consumers.

In Pune zone, a total of 6,06,568 residential consumers, commercial and industrial consumers have not paid and an oustanding of over Rs 132 crores, 89 lakh has been pending. In this, Pune city’s 2 lakh 65 thousand 358 consumers have unpaid amount of Rs 44 crores, 78 lakh and in Pimpri Chinchwad circle’s 1 lakh 28 thousand 5 consumers have unpaid amount of Rs 33 crores 8 lakh, while in rural areas like Ambegaon, Junnar, Maval, Khed, Mulshi, Velhe, Haveli taluka has over 2 lakh 13 thousand 205 consumers who have unpaid Rs 55 crores 3 lakh.

In the last one and half months, power supply has been disrupted of over 40,000 consumers, wherein action against 27,084 consumers from Pune and 7,000 from Pimpri Chinchwad and 6,787 consumers from rural areas have faced power cuts.
