Pune, February 17, 2025: A minor fault in the 220 kV Pirangut-Kandalgav ultra-high voltage transmission line disrupted electricity supply to 14 substations of MSEDCL on Monday. As a result, power supply to 1.42 lakh consumers was interrupted from 11:50 AM to 12:25 PM. Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL) swiftly carried out repairs, restoring power within 35 minutes.

According to MSETCL, the fault occurred at 11:50 AM on the 220 kV Pirangut-Kandalgav line, leading to power outages at 14 MSEDCL substations, including Bhare substation in Mulshi and 13 substations in Hinjawadi.

The outage affected around 97,000 consumers in Mulshi, Bhugaon, Bhukum, Pirangut, Paud, Male, Mutha Valley, Marunji, Jambe, and Nere areas. Additionally, 45,000 consumers, including 200 high-voltage consumers in the Hinjawadi area, experienced power cuts.

MSETCL’s rapid response team promptly addressed the fault and restored the transmission line by 12:25 PM, fully resuming electricity supply to all affected areas.
