Prangan Association Celebrated 7th Annual Durga Puja In Pune: A Fusion Of Devotion, Culture, And Community Service
Prangan Association, Wagholi, successfully hosted its 7th annual Durga Puja, a festival recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, combining devotion, culture, and community service. This year, as in the past, the event extended beyond religious observance, serving as a platform for social welfare and cultural enrichment. Continuing its tradition of charitable work, the association distributed essential equipment to children with special needs, provided clothing to families in financial distress, and organized an Annadan (food distribution) program for those living below the poverty line.

“In parallel, a series of cultural events were held, including recitations, children’s plays, classical dance performances, singing, and drawing competitions for children from across the city. The association also took active steps to promote social awareness through various initiatives during the festivities. The hallmark of Prangan Association is preserving the essence of tradition. During the five days of Durga Puja, countless devotees have traveled from a far, drawn by the familiar sense of Bengal . Allowing them to experience the celebration in their own unique way is what defines Prangan’s success. Prangan Association’s objective is not to engage in competition, but to further enhance its support for social causes in the future, ” informed Asim Saha, President, Durga puja committee, Prangan Association, Wagholi.
