Prashant Jagtap – A visionary leader

“Sandeep, you start planning, the event must take place….” Prashant dada Jagtap is the first city president I have ever seen to give such a strict instruction immediately after the resolution.Last May, Prashant dada Jagtap was elected as the Pune City President and an atmosphere of consciousness was created among all of us. Because we all saw the way Prashant Dada worked when he was the mayor. Therefore, Prashant dada is a leader who never says no to anything.

You would have to tell other office bearers to do this event by meeting them number of times for a job.But, if you tell your concept to Prashant Dada only once, the work will be done. That is why we are all very happy to have Prashant dada as the President.Pune became the city of executives, in this city I got the opportunity to work as vice president due to Prashant dada. Many people told that the post of vice-president is just an ornamental post, the post of vice-president does not have much work or importance. But in reality, every person in the party is important. Even the grass root members are equally important.

When Prashant Dada first came to the party office of the Nationalist Congress Party after assuming the office of the city president, Dada had expressed his shock seeing the state of the office and hence, decided to make it well equipped office equivalent to any corporate office.From the next day onwards, Prashant dada started looking for a place for a new office. After searching desperately for a place, Prashant dada zeroed down the place which was his dream, at Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Chowk, just 100 meters away from Pune Municipal Corporation.But in Prashant Dada’s plan, the design of the office was planned and completed in just 19 days. The party office, which was spread over 300 square feet, was shifted to a new place and a huge NCP building of 6000 square feet was started. Completing the office in 19 days was really a record. Many times wehad to wait till late at night, he use to come early in the morning but Prashant dada never got tired of that work.

Dada designed this office very carefully keeping in mind that the party is like his family and this is the building for his family, which belongs to the party.This office was inaugurated on 19 June, 2021 at the hands of Honourable Ajit Dada. In this ceremony, Ajit Dada said that he has done what no other city president has ever done till now and these words of Dada were an acknowledgment of the hard work he had put in along with all the workers. As the office started, a new spirit was created in every worker. It has never been that there was a month where wenever had a meeting for various reasons since Prashant Dada became the President.

Prashant Dada was the first to form a party organization after setting up an office. He gave 239 senior leaders a place of honor, gave opportunities to the youth and responsibility to the experienced middleclass leaders. In the last eleven months, the city president has been making phone calls to members who have never been visited by him. Whether it was Bavdhan, Phursungi or Khadki. Dada also visited the member registration camp of a small activist. All events, inaugurations, camps began to take off.Nowhere in the eleven months have I seen the President relax. There are usually 30-40 programs throughout the day, including the visit of Respected Ajit Dada, Respected Supriya Sule, meetings of Jayant Patil Saheb, were like family discussions.

Even the 17-year-old girls of Youth Cell have put at least one table on their own, and started taking member registration programs. In the wards where the NCP did not have strength, Prashant Dadas worked to create trust in the minds of all the office bearers including youth, students and women.Honourable Dada’s birthday today. Happy birthday to Dada from the bottom of our hearts. We would like to give a word to all the workers, that the NCP workers will not be able to keep quiet unless they dohard work like Dada has done in the forthcoming Municipal Elections.
