Prithvi Shaw, Fiancée Akriti Agarwal Spark Breakup Speculation After Cryptic Social Media Activity

Neither Prithvi Shaw nor Akriti Agarwal has confirmed a breakup as online speculation continues over a now-deleted Instagram Story and reported changes to their social media profiles.

Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and his fiancée, social media influencer Akriti Agarwal, have become the subject of widespread online speculation after a cryptic Instagram Story posted by Akriti triggered rumours about their relationship.

The speculation began after a screenshot of Akriti’s Instagram Story went viral. The post read, “I got cheated so many times, yet I never said a word. Still can’t believe that after taking one step ahead. Everything is true. Every rumour is true. What you see on social media about him.”

Although the post did not mention Prithvi Shaw or any individual by name, many social media users linked it to the cricketer. The Story is no longer visible on Akriti’s Instagram account. It remains unclear whether it was deleted or simply disappeared after Instagram’s standard 24-hour duration.

Reports also claimed that Akriti unfollowed Shaw on Instagram and removed their engagement photographs from her profile, while Shaw’s engagement post reportedly remained visible. These developments further fuelled speculation about a possible breakup. However, some reports noted that Akriti continued following Shaw, highlighting conflicting claims circulating online.

Neither Prithvi Shaw nor Akriti Agarwal has issued any public statement confirming a breakup or responding to the viral screenshots and speculation. As of now, the identity of the person referred to in the Instagram Story also remains unverified.

The couple announced their engagement on International Women’s Day in March 2026. Sharing photographs from the occasion, Shaw wrote, “From sixes on the field to a lifetime of hits off it. She’s my perfect innings!” The announcement received congratulatory messages from fans and fellow cricketers.

Akriti Agarwal is a social media influencer and actress with more than three million Instagram followers. She is known for creating fashion, lifestyle and dance-related content and made her acting debut with the Telugu psychological thriller Trimukha.

Prithvi Shaw rose to prominence after captaining India to victory in the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and scoring a century on his Test debut later that year. He currently plays domestic cricket while working towards a return to the national side.
