Public urinals in Camela awaits PMC’s attention

The public urinals in Camela area are awaiting attention from the civic authorities

The residents of Camela premises on Salunke Vihar road have been living in filthy conditions as the public urinals and toilets are emitting foul smell.

Despite raising the issue with the local PMC ward office the problem has remained unresolved. The residents decided to take the matter in their hands and approached Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s Rohan Gaikwad to help them out.

Rohan Gaikwad, NIBM Prabhag President, MNS told Pune Pulse that
there are total 16 washrooms. Most of them are dirty, not cleaned, no taps or proper drainage pipes. After we (MNS activists) held an andolan at Wanowrie Ramtekdi ward office. After we raised the issue the ward officials rushed to resolve the matter. The ward office has fitted 2 new doors for the washroom but there is still no water tap, drainage pipe, windows have no cover. 14 other washrooms are still uncleaned.”

When Prashant Jagtap, local Corporator Prabhag 25 and ex Mayor was asked about the issue, he said, “The work is already being done at the site of which issue was raised.”

Yunus Pathan, assistant commissioner of Wanawadi Ramtekdi ward office said, “As soon as the issue was raised to us and resolved the issues of the public urinals. But if it hasn’t happened yet I shall ask the concerned authorities to complete the work.”

Chaitanya Dixit from Wanawadi Ramtekdi ward office when asked about the work at the urinals in Camela he said that the work was done immediately when the issue was raised to us. Also the pending work shall be carried in the coming days.
