In a bid to promote water tourism at Ujani Dam, the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has floated a Rs 73.25 crore tender to purchase various types of boats. The project aims to create employment opportunities for locals from 60 villages surrounding the dam.

The tender includes purchasing a luxurious yacht, high-speed luxurious boats, family luxurious cruising boats, bird safari boats, and parasailing boats. Solapur district collector Kumar Ashirwad stated that the project will not only boost local tourism but also create job opportunities for locals.

The state government has approved a Rs 190 crore Ujani Dam Aqua Tourism project, which will include training local youths to ensure safe conduct of water sports activities.
