Pune: An 85-year-old resident of Sacred Heart Town tragically passed away while swimming on Wednesday morning. It remains unclear whether the elderly swimmer suffered a heart attack or drowned, as the exact cause of death will be confirmed through a post-mortem examination.

According to a resident, the victim was found submerged in the pool by a woman swimmer, who immediately alerted security guards. Notably, there was no lifeguard present at the time of the incident, and the swimming pool premises lacked a CCTV surveillance system.

The residents promptly rushed the elderly man to Ruby Hall Clinic in Wanowrie, where he was declared dead. This is the first fatal incident reported in the society’s swimming pool since its establishment 28 years ago.
