Pune Airport’s New Terminal Inaugurated But Lacks Basic Passenger Facilities: Criticises Congress Leader Mohan Joshi
15 New Flight Slots Added At Pune Airport Amid Soaring Passenger Demand
Pune: A new terminal has been inaugurated at Pune’s Lohegaon Airport, but passengers are still deprived of basic facilities, criticized former MLA and Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Vice President Mohan Joshi.
Despite efforts to ease congestion and provide better services, several shortcomings remain. After the establishment of the National Democratic Alliance government, Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol was appointed Minister of State for Civil Aviation. Following this, he inspected the terminal and garnered significant publicity. The terminal was operationalized in August, yet essential facilities are still unavailable for passengers, Joshi stated in a press release.
Key issues highlighted include:
– Lack of DigiYatra counters despite app-based registration.
– Pending work on other outlets.
– Insufficient manpower at security counters, with only two counters each for men and women, causing long queues.
Joshi also pointed out that the terminal has not achieved international standards and urged BJP leaders to focus on providing facilities rather than chasing publicity.
