Pune: Ajit Pawar Calls For Transparent Use Of ₹22,000 Crore District Planning Funds
Pune, September 4, 2025: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar inaugurated the ‘Chief Minister Samruddha Panchayati Raj Abhiyan’ workshop at Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch in Pune, urging gram panchayats to ensure transparent and effective use of the ₹22,000 crore allocated by the state government for district planning this year.
Pawar emphasized that India’s strength lies in its villages, and if villages prosper, the nation prospers. He announced that starting September 16 (Marathwada Liberation Day), the government will launch a 100-day campaign, under which every village will prepare and implement its own development plan.
The state has also introduced a ₹245.20 crore reward scheme under the initiative, with competitions at the state, division, district, and panchayat samiti levels. Villages excelling in cleanliness, sustainable development, green initiatives, women and child welfare will be recognized.

Highlighting the campaign’s goals, Pawar said it is based on the UN’s sustainable development vision and focuses on good governance, financial empowerment of panchayats, water conservation, green villages, livelihood security, and people’s participation.
Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne, who also addressed the workshop, stated that governance must keep the poor at the center, and this program provides an opportunity for sarpanches to work directly for the welfare of citizens. He also announced that the installments of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi for 92.36 lakh farmers in Maharashtra have been approved by the government and will be disbursed soon.
The workshop was attended by senior ministers, MPs, MLAs, senior officials, experts, and gram panchayat representatives from across the state.
