Pune: Autorickshaw Crashes Into Divider On Bavdhan Warje Road, Driver Freed By Fire Brigade
Pune, July 21, 2025: A major accident took place on the highway from Bavdhan to Warje near Ved Vihar, where an autorickshaw (MH 12 QR 4621) crashed into the road divider, leaving the driver trapped inside the mangled vehicle.
Fire tenders from Warje and NDA fire stations rushed to the scene after receiving the alert. The rescue team, led by Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Sunil Name, used a spreader cutter to free the driver, identified as Ganesh Kolsakar (35), whose legs were pinned in the wreckage.
After a tense rescue operation, Kolsakar was safely extricated and immediately shifted to a hospital by ambulance for medical treatment.
The damaged autorickshaw was then moved to the roadside to eliminate further risk on the busy highway. The operation was carried out with the coordinated efforts of firemen Vijay Swami, Balu Talpe, Ashish Sutar, Kondiba Zore, Bhandari, Jambhale, driver Godse, Kal Shetty, and Chaure.
The fire team left the spot after completing the operation with police permission.
