Pune: Kausarbaug, NIBM Road Residents Unite To End PMC’s Years Of Civic Neglect
Pune, July 21, 2025: Fed up with years of neglect and inaction, residents from Kondhwa’s NIBM Road, Kausarbaug, and Parge Nagar gathered at Bramha Emerald County to demand urgent intervention from civic authorities. The meeting turned into a collective outcry against the deteriorating living conditions in the area.
The meeting was called by Kausarbaug Residents Forum, a citizens group who are seeking action from PMC on various civic issues promptly.
Locals raised alarm over multiple issues plaguing their neighbourhoods. The stray dog menace has left citizens fearing for their safety, while haphazard parking and rampant garbage dumping have turned the once serene localities into chaotic zones. Residents pointed to increasing traffic congestion, broken and missing manhole covers, and a complete lack of women’s safety measures.
Adding to their woes, incidents of drug abuse and peddling have reportedly increased in recent months, putting children and families at risk. Residents also expressed frustration over speeding vehicles and heavy trucks plying on narrow internal roads, endangering lives.
The mushrooming of restaurants in the vicinity was strongly criticised for contributing to traffic jams, noise pollution, and heaps of garbage. Many felt the civic authorities and police have turned a blind eye to these growing problems despite repeated complaints.
Representatives from societies such as Bramha Emerald County, Hill Mist Garden, Hill Mist Harmony, Manish Park, Kumar Homes, Bramha Majestic, Galaxy Apartments, Parge Nagar, NIBM Road, and others attended the meeting. United in their demands, they vowed to escalate matters if their concerns remain unaddressed.
“It’s high time the administration wakes up. We are paying taxes but getting nothing in return,” a resident said. The gathering concluded with a resolution to push for immediate solutions before the situation spirals further out of control.
