Pune: BJP Candidate Sunil Kamble secures win against Congress's Ramesh Bagwe
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Sunil Kamble has won the Pune Cantonment constituency, defeating former Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ramesh Bagwe.
With 290,000 registered voters in the Pune Cantonment area and a voter turnout of 52.85%, the votes counted by midday were enough to declare Kamble the winner. This constituency is reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC).
Despite facing strong anti-incumbency feelings before the elections, Kamble successfully navigated the challenges. The race, anticipated to be closely contested against Indian National Congress candidate Ramesh Bagwe, concluded with Kamble securing a significant win.
