Pune, December 27, 2025: Despite repeated attempts to keep differences under wraps, cracks within the BJP–Shiv Sena alliance (Mahayuti) have now surfaced openly in Pune. With municipal elections scheduled for January 15, tensions over seat-sharing continue to escalate, and Pune has become the latest flashpoint after Thane and Kalyan-Dombivli.

While the recent alliance between the Thackeray brothers has created political buzz, uncertainty persists within the Mahayuti, where the deadlock over seat allocation remains unresolved. Even as candidates are reportedly finalised, official announcements are still pending. Against this backdrop, signs of serious discord emerged during a crucial seat-sharing meeting in Pune.

During the meeting, held to discuss ward-wise allocations, strong resentment was evident within the Shiv Sena. Although alliance leaders tried to downplay internal disagreements, the friction spilled into public view when a senior Shiv Sena leader abruptly walked out of the meeting in a fit of anger. The incident triggered intense political speculation and highlighted growing dissatisfaction within the party’s Pune unit.

The leader who stormed out was Pune city Shiv Sena chief Pramod Nana Bhangire. He left the meeting without offering any comment, underscoring the depth of frustration within the party. The meeting was underway at a hotel in Pune when the dramatic exit took place, once again exposing internal turmoil within the alliance.
