Pune, February 3, 2026: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has a new mayoral team, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manjusha Nagpure set to take charge as mayor and Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Parshuram Wadekar assuming the role of deputy mayor. Both leaders are set to be elected unopposed after the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) decided not to field candidates for the two key posts.

Manjusha Nagpure was elected unopposed from Ward No. 35 (Suncity–Manikbaug), while Parshuram Wadekar secured victory from Ward No. 8A (Aundh–Bopodi), defeating NCP candidate Vinod Ranpise by a margin of 8,747 votes.

Nagpure is considered a committed BJP leader with a strong Hindutva ideology and significant experience in municipal governance. She has previously served on several important civic committees, including the Standing Committee. Before the final decision, the names of Ranjana Tilekar, Varsha Tapkir, and Mansi Deshpande were also being discussed for the mayoral post. As per the reservation draw, the mayor’s post this term was reserved for a woman corporator from the general category.
