Pune: Speeding Car Rams Into Tea Stall Near Bhave High School, 12 Injured Including MPSC Aspirants
A serious road accident took place near Bhave High School in Pune’s Sadashiv Peth area where a speeding Hyundai Aura car ploughed into a roadside tea stall, injuring 12 people including five MPSC aspirants.
The driver, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the stall where several students had gathered for tea. According to police officials, one girl and four others sustained severe leg injuries. All the injured were immediately taken to Sancheti and Modak hospitals for medical care.
Senior Police Inspector Vijaymala Pawar, along with the Vishrambag Police Station team, swiftly responded to the scene. “The driver was intoxicated. The car hit multiple vehicles and pedestrians before crashing into the tea stall,” Inspector Pawar said.
Police have taken the driver into custody and further investigation is in progress.
This incident echoes growing concerns over rash and drunk driving, reminiscent of the recent Porsche crash in Kalyani Nagar that left the city shaken.
