Pune, August 26, 2025 – A disturbing case of road rage has emerged from Khadki, where a car driver was brutally assaulted for stopping a biker riding on the wrong side of the road. The incident occurred on Monday around 5:30 PM and videos of the attack have since gone viral on social media, sparking public anger over rising incidents of lawlessness on city roads.
Details of the Incident
Journalist Steffy Thevar shared on social media that two bikers initially attacked the car driver after being stopped for riding on the wrong side. Soon, two more individuals joined in, and together they beat the driver so severely that he began bleeding profusely.
Photos posted online showed the driver’s shirt soaked in blood. A CT scan later revealed a subtle fracture of the nasal bone and a fracture of the anterior bony nasal septum, suggesting possible internal injuries.
Lighter Police Action Raises Questions
Despite the severity of the assault, Khadki Police only registered a non-cognisable (NC) offence. Thevar questioned this response, posting, “WHAT DEFINES INTENSITY? How is this not enough for an FIR?”
The journalist also raised concerns about the emergency helpline, alleging that when the driver dialed 100, an automated message asked for numeric input instead of immediate human assistance.

The incident has fueled outrage online, with citizens demanding stricter road safety measures, faster police response, and stricter legal action in cases of violent road rage.
