In a significant development, the Pune Police Crime Branch Unit 6 has arrested Papasingh Dayalsingh Dudhani, a 50-year-old innkeeper with a long history of criminal activity, including more than 100 registered cases against him. The arrest was made by a dedicated team comprising Police Inspector Wahid Pathan and Assistant Police Inspectors Madan Kamble, Balasaheb Sakte, Nitin Mundhe, and Suhas Tambekar during routine patrols aimed at enhancing security ahead of the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024.

The operation commenced when Officer Nitin Mundhe received a tip regarding Dudhani’s whereabouts on BT Kawade Road in Wanowrie, Pune. Upon reaching the location, the team successfully apprehended Dudhani, who resides in Perne, Birajdar Nagar, Galli No. 5, Hadapsar, Pune.

Investigations revealed Dudhani’s involvement in at least three burglary cases reported at Hadapsar Police Station. A review of his extensive criminal record indicated past charges that include burglary, vehicle theft, robbery, and assaulting police officers. He had previously been charged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and was recently released on bail.
