Pune Customs Destroys Over 6,365 Kgs Of Seized Narcotics, Arrests 23 In Anti-Drug Campaign
Pune Customs Commissionerate has carried out pre-trial disposal of Ganja 1552 Kgs, Charas 279 Kgs, Mephedrone 4532.94 Kgs, Methamphetamine 0.97 Kg and Cocaine 0.3 Kg of seized drugs in 14 cases booked by the Customs, Pune under Section 52 A of the NDPS Act, 1985. The said disposal was carried out at the factory premises of M/s. Maharashtra Enviro Power Limited., MIDC, Ranjangaon, Pune as per the guidelines laid down in the provisions of the G.S.R. 899 (E ) Notification dtd. 23.12.2022 issued by the Ministry of Finance, GOI under the provisions of the High Level Drug Disposal Committee headed by Commissioner of Customs, Pune, Yashodhan Wanage.
In line with the ongoing Campaign against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, office of the Pune Customs has arrested 23 persons in all 14 cases and destroyed over 6365.04 Kgs of narcotics substances in a coordinated manner on 26th November 2024 to deliver a strong message against drug abuse and trafficking.
The jurisdiction of Pune Customs Commissionerate comprises districts of Pune , Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. There is a dedicated Narcotics Cell in the Customs Commissionerate, Pune.
