Pune: DIAT Celebrates Raising Day 2025, Honours Excellence In Defence Education and InnovationÂ
Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) is a premier academic technology institution under the aegis of Dept. of Defence R&D/DRDO, Ministry of Defence has celebrated its raising day on 09/05/2025, at CV Raman Auditorium of DIAT marking a significant milestone journey since its inception. DIAT as it is known today, came into being as the Institute of Armament Studies in 1952 in the CME Campus. In 1967, the Institute was renamed as “Institute of Armament Technology (IAT) which moved to its present location at Girinagar, Pune.
DIAT felicitated faculty members who have completed their 15 years’ of service at DIAT. Institute Level Awards also distributed in the category of Best Teacher, best PhD thesis, best supporting staff in Technical and Admin by the Chief Guest Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, Guest of Honour Shri Lalchand Mangal, DS & DG (TM), Smt. U. Jeya Shanti, OS & DG (HR), DRDO HQ.
Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India addressed the gathering and congratulated the DIAT Team. Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE addressed the gathering and congratulated awardees including stakeholders of DIAT. He appreciated the significant achievements done by DIAT in contributing to nation building.
Dr. B. H. V. S. Narayana Murthy, Vice-Chancellor expressed his gratitude to DIAT fraternity in achieving extraordinary milestone despite all challenges and bringing laurels to DIAT through their dedication and hard work.
