Pune Division of Central Railway Achieves 2.7 MW Solar Milestone
As envisioned by the Prime Minister; Advancing India’s mission of net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, The Pune Division of Central Railway has installed 1.8 megawatts (MW) of solar power this financial year with aggregate capacity of 2.7 megawatts (MW). This initiative reduces dependency on fossil fuels, cuts greenhouse gas emissions, and lowers operational costs.

Railway officials highlighted their commitment to a sustainable future, emphasizing the importance of renewable energy. The milestone reflects Indian Railways’ dedication to adopting green practices and contributing to the nation’s clean energy goals. The achievement sets a strong example for public infrastructure in tackling climate change through innovative energy solutions.
Overall project was leaded by Mr. Parag Aknurwar Sr.DEE (G) Pune with valuable guidance of Rajesh Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager, Pune.
