Pune, November 7, 2025: The Kale Padal police have registered a case against a former corporator and three others for allegedly cheating a Mohammadwadi-based doctor of ₹24.20 lakh under the pretext of helping him acquire a plot reserved for public amenities.

Prachi Ashish Alhat was the corporator of NIBM Mohamadwadi Prabhag 26 between 2017-22. 

According to the police, the complainant, Mahendra Dhondiram Survase (39), a resident of Mohammadwadi and owner of a hospital, filed a complaint stating that the accused deceived him between November 2023 and July 2025.

Those named in the case include Prachi Alhat (former corporator), her husband Ashish AlhatChintamani Kurne from Mohammadwadi, and Arif Shaikh from Mangalwar Peth. Police officials mentioned that Alhat, previously associated with Shiv Sena (UBT), had joined the BJP a few months ago.

As per the complaint, the accused approached Survase claiming they could assist him in obtaining a Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) plot reserved for “amenity space” and secure permissions to construct a hospital. They allegedly demanded ₹25 lakh for the process.

The doctor stated that he transferred ₹24.20 lakh in installments from his wife’s and friend’s bank accounts to the accounts of the accused.

Police have initiated further investigation into the matter.
