Pune, August 21, 2025: Lonavala witnessed a dramatic scene on the old Pune-Mumbai Highway on Wednesday afternoon, when a group of young women, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, engaged in a fierce street brawl. The incident took place near the popular A-1 Chikki Shop, drawing a massive crowd and bringing traffic to a halt.
According to eyewitnesses, the women began shouting at each other before escalating into a physical fight, pulling hair and exchanging blows in what appeared to be a freestyle wrestling match. The chaos, combined with blaring car horns and onlookers recording videos, created a complete traffic jam on the busy stretch.
Lonavala traffic police rushed to the spot to intervene, but the fight reportedly continued even as officers tried to separate the women. It was only after female police personnel stepped in that the situation was brought under control. The women involved were taken into custody, and preliminary questioning is underway to determine the reason behind the altercation.
Videos of the incident have gone viral across social media, sparking widespread debate about unruly tourist behaviour in the popular hill station. Locals expressed concern over increasing instances of public nuisance and urged authorities to implement stricter regulations to maintain order.
