Pune, August 21, 2025: The water discharge from Khadakwasla Dam into the Mutha River has been reduced from 39,138 cusecs to 32,290 cusecs starting at 10:00 AM today. The decision was taken considering the current inflow and rainfall patterns in the catchment areas.

Authorities have stated that this discharge rate may be further revised depending on upcoming rainfall and water inflow. Residents along the riverbanks and in low-lying areas have been requested to remain alert to any future changes.

Sub-Divisional Engineer Mohan Sh. Bhadaane of the Mutha Canals Irrigation Sub-Division, Swargate, Pune, issued the update, urging people to stay informed through official channels for timely notifications regarding any adjustments in the dam’s water release.

The reduced discharge is expected to help manage river water levels more effectively while ensuring safety downstream. However, officials have warned that further increases or decreases may be implemented as per weather conditions and inflow at the reservoir.

Citizens are advised to exercise caution and follow safety instructions to avoid inconvenience or risk due to fluctuating river levels.
