Pune: Gas Pipeline Breaks Near Palace Orchard During Road Work, MNGL Resumes Supply After Brief HaltÂ
On January 7, 2025 the Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited pipeline was damaged near the Palace Orchard society gate on NIBM undri road while the road work was ongoing. The damage caused huge fire in the fire which led to shutting down of the supply.
Adv Ritesh Yeolekar, a resident of the society informed Pune Pulse that the incident took place around 3:30 to 4 AM. He called up on the 100 and informed them about the situation. He said, “Within 10 minutes, Fire Brigade, MNGL Van, & Police were on the spot. MNGL immediately took all necessary steps & they waited for around 15-20 mins more , then Fire brigade took action and cooled down the fire.”

The MNGL also announced that the gas supply was restored after the cooling down process. This is not the first time that the third parties have damaged the MNGL line in the area.
It was appreciable that Fire & MNGL reached on time and took the action to avoid any fatal accident.
