Pune, January 29, 2025 – Amid rising cases of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has intensified efforts to secure the city’s water supply. Strict measures are being enforced to prevent contamination and ensure safe drinking water, especially in affected areas like Sinhagad Road, Kirkatwadi, Nanded, and Dhayari.
Key Measures Implemented by PMC
Well Cleaning & Security: Water-supplying wells are being cleaned, and protective covers will be installed to prevent contamination.
Automated Chlorine Monitoring: Real-time meters will be deployed to ensure optimal chlorine levels in drinking water.
Water Quality Inspections: Tanker-supplied and residential well water are being tested, with chlorine sachets provided to private operators for added safety.

24/7 Monitoring System: Automated chlorine meters will ensure continuous water quality checks.
New Disinfection Facilities: PMC plans to install additional tanks and automated treatment systems for precise chlorine control.
PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale assured residents that 20,000 bottles of Medichlor will be distributed in affected areas. “Our top priority is ensuring clean water and public safety,” he emphasized.
