Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have issued a traffic advisory and announced diversions ahead of the fourth T20I between India and England, scheduled for January 31 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Gahunje. To manage the large influx of spectators and prevent congestion, traffic restrictions will be enforced across key routes, including the Pune-Mumbai Expressway and surrounding areas.

Traffic Diversions and Designated Routes

  • VIP and Emergency Vehicles: Vehicles with VVIP, VIP passes, and emergency service passes can reach the stadium via the service road of the Pune-Mumbai Expressway on the stadium’s side.
  • From Mumbai: Vehicles must take the Dehu Road exit, travel through Mamurdi village via the service road, and proceed to the stadium parking.
  • From Pune-Mumbai Expressway: Vehicles can take a U-turn at Mukai Chowk after Kivale Bridge and use the service road along Symbiosis College to reach the stadium.
  • From Old Pune-Mumbai Highway: Vehicles must take a U-turn at Central Chowk and reach the stadium via Sai Nagar Phata. Entry to Mamurdi underpass via Somatne Phata is prohibited.
  • From Pune: Vehicles should take the Pune-Bangalore Highway, cross Kiwale Bridge, turn left, and use the left-side service road of the expressway.
  • From Nigdi: Commuters can travel via Ravet Chowk, Bhondwe Chowk, and Mukai Chowk before joining the left-side service road of the expressway to reach the stadium.

Heavy Vehicle Restrictions

To ease congestion, entry of heavy vehicles will be prohibited from 3 PM to midnight on the following routes:

  • Mamurdi to Kanetkar Bungalow
  • Mamurdi to Gahunje
  • Krushna Chowk to Mamurdi underpass
  • Old Pune-Mumbai Highway to Gahunje Stadium

Additional Guidelines for Smooth Traffic Flow

  • Entry through Mamurdi village’s internal roads is strictly prohibited.
  • Drivers should maintain a single-lane formation and avoid overtaking due to narrow approach roads.

Authorities have urged commuters to plan their travel routes in advance and follow police instructions to ensure smooth traffic movement around the stadium on match day.
