Pune: Girivan Welfare Society Files FIR Against SFPL And Co-operative Maintenance Society For Harassing Members
Mulshi, 10 January 2025 — A serene locality of Girivan is currently embroiled in a contentious dispute involving Sujata Farms Pvt. Ltd. (SFPL) and the newly formed Girivan Cooperative Maintenance Society (GCMS). Employees of SFPL, led by Managing Director Jayant Mhalgi, and individuals connected to the Cooperative Society, are under suspicion for allegedly harassing members of the Girivan Welfare Society (GWS).
The dispute took a disturbing turn when large piles of stones were dumped at the entrances of multiple plots owned by GWS members, obstructing access to their properties. Alarmed by the escalating situation, GWS filed a formal complaint with the Pune Rural Superintendent of Police (SP), Pankaj Deshmukh.
After reviewing evidence, including photos and videos of the incident, SP Deshmukh expressed his strong disapproval of the actions and immediately directed the Paud police to remove the obstructions and take stringent legal action against those responsible. In response to his orders, Paud police successfully cleared the stones during an operation on Wednesday.
An FIR has been registered against three individuals—Deepak Pradhan, Sandeep Badhe, and Nitin Sathe—under sections 3 (5) and 126 of the BNS.
GWS has called on its members to remain vigilant and unified in light of these recent developments, alleging that the incident is part of a broader pattern of intimidation orchestrated by those linked to SFPL and the new Cooperative Society.
While the police intervention has alleviated the immediate concerns of GWS members, the incident underscores the need for stronger preventive measures to avoid similar disturbances in the future
