Pune has secured a spot among the top five cities in India for working women, according to a recent survey conducted by the Avatar Group. The survey, which assessed various factors related to inclusivity, safety, and quality of life for women in the workforce, placed Pune in an impressive fifth position.
Bengaluru topped the list, followed by Chennai and Mumbai, with Pune securing its spot alongside major metros like Hyderabad and Kolkata. The survey evaluated 60 cities across the country, with the participation of 1,672 women from diverse backgrounds.
Pune excelled in government efficiency, quality of life, and social inclusivity for women, contributing significantly to its ranking in the top five. The city also ranked high in industrial inclusion, with many women being part of the workforce in various sectors.
Dr. Soundarya Rajesh, founder and chairperson of Avatar Group, emphasized the importance of cities in shaping women’s progress. “Cities are the foundation for opportunity, and understanding the core principles and cultural structures of our cities is essential to increase women’s progress and inclusivity,” she stated.
