Pune: Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign To Be Held Across Maharashtra from August 9 to 15
Pune, August 5, 2024
In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to celebrate the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in his July 28 ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be conducting a statewide campaign from August 9 to 15. This was announced by Pune City President Dheeraj Ghate in a press release.
Ghate detailed that under the leadership of BJP National President J.P. Nadda, State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the campaign aims to reach 1 crore people and encourage them to hoist the national flag at their homes. Various activities will include Tiranga yatras, flag hoisting at homes, cleaning of memorials and statues of great personalities, and events commemorating the Partition horror day.
The campaign is designed to increase public participation during the Independence Day festivities. Arrangements will be made to provide national flags at all party centers and booths. In Vidarbha, Uma Khapre will coordinate the campaign, while Rani Nighot-Dwivedi will handle Thane, Konkan, and Mumbai; Kiran Patil will oversee Marathwada; Ajay Bhole will be responsible for North Maharashtra; and Sudarshan Patskar will manage South Maharashtra.
From August 9, Kranti Din, to Independence Day, plans are in place to display the national flag on every house, shop, and office. Booth-level workers will focus on raising awareness, and schools and colleges will be encouraged to participate in flag hoisting ceremonies. Special attention will be given to instilling patriotism in children through flag hoisting by young students.
Tiranga yatras will take place from August 11 to 14 across various party divisions, involving youth wings, women’s wings, and local social organizations. The yatras will culminate at the assembly level.
From August 12 to 14, cleanliness drives at memorials and statues of great personalities and freedom fighters will be conducted. Additionally, ceremonies to honor these figures and tributes to those who lost their lives during the Partition will be organized on August 14. Ghate also mentioned that discussions and conferences will be held to remember their sacrifices.
