Pune: Hinjawadi Residents List 11 Urgent Demands Amid Crumbling Infrastructure and Traffic Woes (for representation purpose only)
Hinjawadi, June 13, 2025: Once known as the “Silicon Valley of Maharashtra,” Pune’s Hinjawadi is now struggling with serious infrastructure issues, including poor road conditions, traffic congestion, waterlogging, and erratic civic services. In response, residents and professionals commuting to the IT hub have listed 11 key demands urging authorities to act immediately.
The list was released by members of the Hinjawadi IT Park Professional Commuters and Residents group, who say the area’s fragmented administration has failed to meet even basic urban needs. Despite being a major IT and employment zone, Hinjawadi is still governed by a gram panchayat, while road maintenance is divided among multiple authorities—PMC, PCMC, MIDC, and PWD.

Key Demands by Hinjawadi Residents:
- Clear accountability from governing bodies
- A reliable system for lodging and resolving complaints
- Regular maintenance of roads, footpaths, and street lights
- Improved traffic management with proper lanes, signals, signage, and enforcement
- Upkeep of drainage and sewage systems to prevent waterlogging
- Control of pollution from nearby construction activities
- Regular road cleaning and proper garbage collection
- Removal of illegal encroachments
- Consistent 24×7 water and power supply
- Identification and removal of illegal migrants

Frustrated by poor coordination between multiple agencies, many locals are demanding that Hinjawadi be included under either the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) or the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for better governance.
