Pune: In a shocking incident, four female students were expelled for a month from the Social Welfare Hostel in Pune after one of them ordered a pizza online. The hostel, run by the Social Justice Department, houses around 250 students.

Hostel Warden Issues Notice Over Pizza Order

According to reports, hostel warden Minakshi Narahare issued an official notice after discovering that a pizza had been ordered in one of the rooms. As none of the students admitted to placing the order by February 8, the hostel administration suspended their stay for a month.

Parents Protest Against Hostel’s Action

Adding to the controversy, the students’ parents were called in and allegedly subjected to discussions on unrelated topics rather than their children’s academics. Despite their protests, the authorities upheld the expulsion, leading to growing outrage among the students and parents.

The hostel has strict security rules prohibiting outside food and entry of external individuals. However, parents and students are questioning whether such a severe punishment was justified for a minor rule violation.
