PUNE: In light of the upcoming G20 summit, the Indian Railways has cancelled over 300 trains to Delhi due to security concerns.

The Railways has issued an appeal to passengers to plan their travel accordingly, taking into account the dates and trains listed in the official release.

The Northern Railway has informed the G20 summit is scheduled to take place in Delhi on September 9 and 10, with leaders from around the world expected to attend, including US President Joe Biden. 

In view of the high-profile event, tight security measures have been put in place, and Delhi will be closed to the general public from midnight on September 7 to midnight on September 10. As a result, schools and some offices will also be closed during this period.

The Railways has temporarily cancelled some trains, while others have been diverted or had their stops changed. 

A total of 207 trains coming to Delhi on September 9 and 10 have been temporarily cancelled, including the Taj Express, Sirsa Express, New Delhi-Jalandhar City Express, Intercity Express, Amritsar-New Delhi Express, and Delhi-Pathankot Express, and others.

As per the reports, the terminal of 15 trains has also been changed. Several other trains, including the Kranti Express, Swatantra Senani Express, and Gomti Express, have been affected, with an additional stop provided for 70 trains and the route of six trains changed.

Thirty trains have been diverted as well. Passengers are advised to check the official list of affected trains and plan their travel accordingly.
