Pune to experience heavy rainfall from September 22 onwards

PUNE: After a prolonged absence, precipitation has returned to the state. Over the past 24 hours, certain regions have experienced heavy rainfall. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the amount of rainfall will increase within the next 48 to 72 hours, as yellow alert to be issued for Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha.

As per the information received, monsoon rains have been partially active in the state, with heavy to moderate rainfall being recorded in isolated areas of Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy to moderate rainfall throughout the state in the upcoming 48 to 72 hours.

A yellow warning has been issued for Madhya Maharashtra from September 3 to 4, Marathwada from September 3 to 5, and Vidarbha from September 3 to 6. The Pune Meteorological Department has predicted a decrease in rainfall in Konkan. On Saturday, Kolhapur, Raigad, Sangli, and Pune districts received rainfall. Heavy to very heavy rainfall was observed in isolated areas of Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Vidarbha. In the past 24 hours, Lonavala recorded 105 mm of rainfall, while Chinchwad recorded 83 mm of rainfall.
