On the ospicious occasion of Ganeshotsav, in order to spread the tradition of Maharashtra throughout India through postal services, the Maharashtra and Goa Circle of the Postal Department has issued a special cancellation on the subject of “Ganeshotsav – 2025”, in Pune yesterday. It is dedicated to the Ganeshotsav in the huge pandal of Shreemant Dagadushet Halwai Sarvajanik Ganapati Trust, Pune.
The Ganeshotsav in Pune, which preserves the cultural traditions of Maharashtra, is famous all over India and the world, and the Ganeshotsav of Shrimant Dagdushet Halwai Sarvajanik Ganapati Trust is also famous among them. This has special significance for philately, the king of hobbies, i.e. those who collect postage stamps.
This special cancellation was issued in the presence of Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra and Goa Circle, Mumbai, Abhijeet Bansode, Director, Postal Services, Pune , Sunil Rasane, President, Shreemant Dagadushet Halwai Sarvajanik Ganapati Trust, Pune, and Mahesh Suryavanshi, Treasurer, Shreemant Dagadushet Halwai Sarvajanik Ganapati Trust, Pune. The officers and employees of of Department of Posts, Philatelists and thousands of Ganesh devotees were also present on the occasion.
This special cancellation is dedicated to the people of Pune and the Ganeshotsav Mandals, who are the heart and soul of this festival.
On this occasion, Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra and Goa Circle, Mumbai said that this special cancellation has been issued by the Department of Posts, Maharashtra Circle to honor the fundamental work of Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganapati Trust, Pune on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Festival. He further added that this special cancellation will be printed on all the mails to be sent from Pune. The special feature of this is that it has an image of Ganesha highlighted in it.
This special cancellation has been made by the well-known calligraphy artist Padma Shri awardee Achyut Palav. He extended his warmest wishes on the occasion of Ganeshotsav to all the Ganesh devotees on behalf of the Postal Department.
