Pune: Ivy Estate In Wagholi Gears Up For Grand Saraswati Puja 2025
Ivy Estate, one of eastern Pune’s largest residential societies, is gearing up to celebrate Saraswati Puja on February 2, 2025, followed by Visarjan the next day. The cultural group Vaishali Sanskritik Sanghatana (VSS) has taken the lead in organizing the event, aiming to bring together residents of Ivy Estate and nearby societies for a grand celebration.
This years highlight is the Vidyāraṃbhaṃ Sanskar ceremony, a symbolic initiation of children into education. Also known as Hate Khadi in Bengali culture, this ritual will mark the beginning of academic journeys for over 100 children from diverse communities. The morning Puja will be followed by the Vidyāraṃbhaṃ Sanskar and cultural programs in the evening.

The president of the organizing committee said, While Vaishali Sanskritik Sanghatna (VSS) celebrated Saraswati Puja at the society level last year, this time, VSS is breaking all boundaries. We are inviting residents from all communities—north, south, east, and west—to unite and celebrate
this occasion.
Residents, especially school going children, are thrilled about this festival as Maa Saraswati symbolizes knowledge and wisdom. Families from Maharashtra, Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and all other states are actively participating, representing the spirit of inclusivity and cultural exchange.
The event promises to be more than a religious celebration — it’s a reflection of Ivy Estate’s diverse and united community. As one of the IUS (Ivy Utsav Samiti) members said, "This Saraswati Puja is just about traditions; about bringing everyone together to celebrate knowledge, culture.
With vibrant rituals, joyful cultural performances, and active participation from all, Saraswati Puja 2025 at Ivy Estate is set to inspire and engage everyone, truly living up to its message: Knowledge is one that liberates.
