On Friday, August 9, the Sharad Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) launched the Shivswarajya Yatra from the historic Shivneri Fort. However, the Yatra’s commencement was marked by an unfortunate incident when a crane malfunctioned during a ceremonial event at the base of the fort.

The mishap occurred while the leaders were paying tribute to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. A crane, equipped with a trolley, was used to place a garland on the statue. Among those in the trolley were NCP State President Jayant Patil, Shirur MP Dr. Amol Kolhe, Women’s Wing President Rohini Khadse, and Youth President Mahebub Shaikh.

As the leaders completed the garlanding and the trolley began its descent, it suddenly tilted to one side, putting the occupants at risk. Fortunately, all four leaders narrowly avoided injury as the trolley was carefully brought down, and they were safely escorted out. Following the incident, the Shivswarajya Yatra proceeded as planned.
