Pune, June 11, 2026: In a major breakthrough against vehicle thefts, the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police have apprehended a juvenile offender and solved three vehicle theft cases, recovering two motorcycles and one autorickshaw collectively valued at ₹2.35 lakh.

With incidents of vehicle theft on the rise in the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station jurisdiction, a special investigation team was formed under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil. The team, led by Police Sub-Inspector Nilesh Mokashi along with police personnel Mitesh Chormole, Sagar Borge, and Abhinay Chaudhary, was actively tracking vehicle theft suspects.

Acting on specific information, the team learned that a juvenile was waiting with a stolen autorickshaw and a motorcycle in an open area near Wonder City Road. Police immediately conducted a search operation on the road leading from Wonder City Road towards Sawant Vihar and found the juvenile in possession of an autorickshaw and a Honda Dio motorcycle.

During interrogation, the juvenile confessed to stealing the vehicles along with his associates. Both vehicles were seized by the police. Further investigation revealed that the juvenile and his accomplices had also stolen a Honda Shine motorcycle.

The recovered vehicles include:

Autorickshaw MH12 QR 3784 – valued at ₹1,00,000

Honda Dio MH12 QQ 7182 – valued at ₹65,000

Honda Shine MH12 KZ 6111 – valued at ₹70,000

The total value of the seized vehicles is ₹2.35 lakh.

The recovered vehicles were linked to three vehicle theft cases registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Milind Mohite and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rahul Aware. 

The team included Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil, Police Inspector (Crime) Kailas Kodag, PSI Nilesh Mokashi, and police personnel Mitesh Chormole, Abhinay Chaudhary, Sagar Borge, Sachin Sarpale, Avdhut Jamdade, Mahesh Baravkar, Mangesh Pawar, Nilesh Khairmode, Mangesh Gaikwad, Kiran Sable, Tukaram Sutar, and Sandeep Agale.
