Pune: Loan Recovery Agents Booked After Viral Video Shows Public Assault In Hadapsar
Pune, April 29, 2026: The Hadapsar police have registered a case against three loan recovery agents after a video allegedly showing them assaulting a borrower in public surfaced online and sparked widespread concern.
The incident occurred around 1 pm on April 27 near 15 Number Chowk in Hadapsar. The altercation was recorded by bystanders, and the footage later went viral on social media, drawing attention to the conduct of recovery agents.
The accused have been identified as Jai Suhas Kasar (36) and Vinit Suhas Kasar (30), both residents of Manjari, and Tanishq Harish Khude (19) from Mundhawa. Police said the trio was working as recovery agents for a private bank.
According to the investigation, the dispute was linked to repayment of a loan. The agents allegedly confronted the borrower, Sandeep Jamadar, in a public place and assaulted him. Jamadar is employed as an accessory manager with an automobile company.
Police officials stated that Jamadar had taken a loan of ₹35,000 through a credit card issued by a private bank. The accused allegedly approached him earlier, warning that they would visit his residential society and publicly defame him if the dues were not cleared. They also allegedly demanded extra money to avoid such action. When Jamadar refused to comply, the situation escalated, leading to the alleged assault.
The incident has raised questions over the methods used by recovery agents. Following the complaint, Hadapsar police have booked the three accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges of assault, criminal intimidation, and use of force. Further investigation is underway.
