Pune – Lonavala train service from October 12 only for essential service workers

The government of Maharashtra recently had announced that local train services on certain routes shall begin to function. From October 12, local train service from Pune to Lonavala and Lonavala to Pune shall resume its operations but only for people working in essential services category. The local train service schedule shall be announced separately, said the press release issued by the Pune Railway Division, of Central Railway.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has been given the authority to issue passes for people working in essential services category. He is the nodal officer appointed by the state government to review this system. These identity cards issued by the officials appointed by Pune Police Commissioner shall issue passes which will have QR code. People possessing these QR codes enabled passes shall only be allowed to avail the train service.
